The North Central Kansas Health Collaborative began in 2015 through regional work to support interventions to reduce health disparities and prevent obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke in priority populations. Through uniting as a region, the coalition then had the capacity to coordinate and implement other initiatives that would not have been possible individually.
The mission of the NCK Health Collaborative is to align efforts regionally to improve the health of our rural communities. The collaborative strives to accomplish this mission through regional partnerships, creating trusting relationships and processes, and developing adaptive concepts and solution so rural citizens can lead a healthy life.
The health coalitions that make up the collaborative are: AWARE NCK of Mitchell County, Healthy Republic County, Jewell County Health 365, Live Healthy Lincoln County and Smith County Centered on Healthy Living.
